Each year the Texas Clogging Council seeks to recognize one of it's members as outstanding in promoting clogging within our State. We are proud to announce Marilyn Penton as Texas Clogger of the Year 2008!
Marilyn is a member of at least four TCC clubs in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and has visited or danced with many or all clubs in that area. She is a leader serving as vice president over the clogging clubs of Nortex and has served as Chairman for the Nortex Clogging Hall.
This year's Clogger of the Year is also a teacher. We don't mean teaching once a year at the Rally, but as a director of a club and an actual clogging instructor in the local Community College. Many new cloggers have been molded by this nominee and are a testament to the impact a willing teacher makes in the lives of new cloggers and the future of clogging in general. She promotes the fun of clogging by participating in exhibitions and assists and choreographs routines for those exhibitions. The nominee also routinely writes articles for Nortex newsletter, The Promenade. Most of us recognize her as the Editor of The Texas Clogger for the past three years.
